Frequently Asked Questions
Getting Started
I am just starting up, am I ready for Launchpad?
Launchpad is designed for early-stage startups. We look for founders with a validated problem statement and a clear commitment. You don't need a product yet, but having a working prototype or a strong proof-of-concept will significantly strengthen your application.
Does the program focus on specific sectors or geographies?
We are **sector agnostic**, welcoming applications from all industries, including FinTech, HealthTech, EdTech, and deep science. Geographically, we prioritize startups based in India, but global applications with a clear plan to impact the Indian market may be considered.
Can a solo/single founder apply to the program?
Yes, solo founders are welcome to apply. However, our selection process strongly favors teams of **two or more co-founders** due to the demanding nature of scaling a startup. A strong team dynamic is a key evaluation criterion.
When can I apply?
Launchpad runs two cohorts per year. Applications typically open in **March** for the Summer Cohort and **September** for the Winter Cohort. Please subscribe to our newsletter for precise application window announcements.
What do you look for in a startup?
We primarily seek three things: **Market Potential** (a large, addressable market), **Innovation** (a unique solution to the problem), and a **Committed Team** (founders with domain expertise and resilience).
I have two ideas! Can I submit two applications?
We recommend focusing your efforts on your **most promising idea** and submitting a single, high-quality application. If both ideas are equally strong, you may submit two applications, but they will be reviewed independently.
What stage should the startup be to be eligible?
Startups should be at the **ideation or MVP (Minimum Viable Product) stage**. We do not accept companies that are already post-Series A funding or are generating substantial revenue, as the program content is tailored for the discovery phase.
Do we receive any funding?
Launchpad **does not provide direct funding**. However, upon successful completion, we connect high-potential startups with our network of angel investors and VC partners, acting as an important pathway to future funding rounds.
Where will the program take place?
The program is run in a **hybrid format**. Key workshops and mentorship sessions take place physically at our hub in Bangalore, while most routine check-ins and specific office hours are conducted online.
What will I learn from this program?
You will learn to master **Product-Market Fit**, develop a scalable business model, build high-performance teams, structure your pitch, and gain direct access to industry experts and investors.
Do I need to be present for the entire duration of the program?
Physical presence is **mandatory** for the initial two-week immersion phase and the final Mentor Panel Pitch day. The rest of the program offers flexibility, but high engagement is expected for all scheduled virtual sessions.
I applied in the past. Can I apply again?
Yes, we encourage repeat applications, especially if you have made **significant progress** on your idea, team, or prototype since your last submission. Please highlight the changes in your new application.
During Launchpad
How long is the program for?
The Launchpad program runs for a total of **12 weeks** (3 months). This includes the intensive workshops and the subsequent mentorship phase leading up to the pitch event.
How many team members can attend the program?
We allow up to **two core team members** to actively participate in the scheduled sessions and workshops to ensure focused learning and interaction.
Is there a fee that needs to be paid to participate?
No, the Launchpad program is currently **offered free of cost** to all selected startups. We cover the costs of the program through our institutional grants and corporate partnerships.
How many hours will I have to spend on LPi in a week?
You should expect to dedicate approximately **10-15 hours per week** to scheduled sessions, workshops, and mentor check-ins. Crucially, your team will spend much more time applying these learnings to your startup.
